Overview:

The Suncare Sales Representative (SSR) is accountable for driving retail sales results of assigned products within a defined Territory (Account coverage includes, Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens, etc). This role is responsible for selected stores stretching throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. It is critical that the Suncare Sales Representative cultivates and leverages various relationships with store and other retail management personnel to enhance results.

Responsibilities:

  • Increases sales through Direct Store Delivery (DSD) business model
  • Ensures our customer “Four P” plans agreed to at headquarters are implemented in store.
  • Cultivates and uses relationships with store decision makers to increase our brand presence through secondary locations and incremental displays
  • Negotiate with retail customers to gain incremental placement of our suncare products.
  • Ensures product is packed out at shelf during peak season, major promotions and holiday periods
  • Must be able to efficiently manage inventory in Coppertone vans and mini warehouses
  • Responsible for effectively using a part time resource “Merchandiser” to complete the duties of this role
  • Manages schedule and route within assigned Territory, based on business objectives and retailer needs
  • Uses handheld computer to engage in two-way communication, including product ordering, surveys, and product display suggestions
  • Customizes display mix based on store needs, demographics, utilization history, trends, and forecasting
  • Shares standard methodologies and opportunities with Suncare team, communicates unique market dynamics/insights during peak summer season
  • Provides support to other Business Unit(s) during Suncare off-season

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • 4-yr degree or equivalent preferred, not required
  • A minimum of 1-year related sales or merchandising experience required
  • Willing and able to travel within Territory as needed. Can be greater than three hours.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License, company provided vehicle
  • Ability to effectively build customer relationships and credibility at various store levels and departments
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated selling and negotiation ability, including excellent presentation skills
  • Ability and desire to work independently
  • Prioritization and organizational skills
  • Problem solving/solution finding ability
  • Inventory management experience preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office Suite knowledge, proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 25 pounds and move greater than 100 cases per day on an occasional basis
  • Reside within territory geography
