Overview:
GIPHY is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Director, Ad Sales to lead our advertising sales efforts. The Sr. Director, Ad Sales is responsible for achieving revenue targets, developing innovative ad sales strategies, building and maintaining client relationships and leading a high-performing team of individual contributors.
Reporting to GIPHY’s Chief Growth Officer, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital marketing, experience managing a team of Client Leads, sales leadership across brand verticals, and a passion for storytelling.
The Day to Day:
Revenue Generation

Develop, implement, and execute strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets across all GIPHY Ads Sales team members.
Team Leadership
-
Lead and grow the GIPHY ad sales team, creating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

Recruit, train, and develop a team of individual contributors with varying levels of seniority.

Drives collaboration across functions in the development of common goals and objectives

Identifies and removes roadblocks to applying innovative thinking
Sales Strategy

Communicate a strong understanding of key vertical market trends, and the value that GIPHY can bring to each.

Partner with Revenue leadership to build and execute a comprehensive ad sales strategy to support sustainable revenue growth for GIPHY.

Collaborate cross-functionally to represent the needs of our clients across the Product, Content, and Marketing departments.

Innovate and explore new ad formats and partnerships to enhance GIPHY’s unique value proposition.

Provide input on marketing, including demand gen, sales enablement, ad customer-facing content strategies

Accountable for function results which impact organization performance

Actively participates in the development of BU vision, strategy & goals

Leverages their experience and expertise to provide guidance on the vision, goals and strategy for other functions
Client Relationships

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key advertising clients, agencies, and partners, and leverage them to support the individual goals of the Ad Sales team members.

Bring higher-level contacts to the table, allowing GIPHY to grow its revenue outside of the context of individual campaigns.

Act as a strategic partner, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
What you bring to the role:
-
8+ years of experience building and running a healthy, results-driven ad sales team, delivering sustainable revenue growth.

8+ years of total experience in ad sales for a platform or media property, with a track record of reaching and exceeding revenue goals.

A well-established network within the advertising and media industry. Strong client direct and agency relationships with Fortune 500Brands.

Demonstrated negotiation skills and an ability to persuade at all levels of an agency or client.

Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve shared business goals.

The pay range for this position is below:
• $325,000 – $449,000 OTE per year in New York
• $325,000 – $449,000 OTE per year in California
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
