Reporting to: VP State and Local Government Team (Regulated Industries III)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for a Senior Solution Sales Executive to drive net new business across a large geographic territory calling on State & Local Government accounts as well as K-12, Ports and Tribal Nations. Also, someone who can fit into the team culture of helping each other and sharing best practices, failures, and great success.
What you'll do:
The Senior Solution Sales Executive (SSE) partners with the end-to-end account owner to drive solution specific sales motions, bring in domain expertise to solve customer business challenges, and grow the customer’s SAP footprint through renewal and expansion to support long term customer success.
- Generate demand, manage pipeline, and close opportunities
- Develop opportunity plans containing compelling solution value propositions
- Conduct White Space analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Work with wider account team on sales campaigns
- Manage customer relationships at the solution area/buying center level
- Progress opportunities for move to cloud/expand footprint accounts or accounts which are new to the solution area
- Utilize deep knowledge of how companies operate, business models, strategies, and end-to-end business processes
- Stay informed about SAP’s competition and value drivers
- Leverage SAP’s comprehensive team of experts and industry knowledge to effectively address customer needs
- Build customer participation in relevant SAP communities, programs, and events
- Facilitate collaboration with the partner ecosystem
What you bring:
- Minimum 5-years of successful SaaS software sales
- Experience selling and building a territory with net new business accounts
- Experience selling to already established accounts (client sales)
- Understanding of account planning and using Mutual Action Plan’s (MAPS)
- Demonstrated networking and relationship building skills
- Ability to navigate long and complex sales cycles
- Open to travel up to 50% of the time
- Experience using Salesforce to manage your pipeline and business is preferred
- Experience calling into Regulated Industries like SLG, K-12, Ports and Tribal Nations preferred
- Understanding of the Public Markets buying engines used, NASPO, GSA, DIR etc. preferred
- Experience working with resellers and partners to team up on RFP’s and other opportunities
- Experience with working with 3rd party Systems Integrators for solution deployments

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 180,500 – 383,900 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
