The Honey Pot was born out of one woman’s need to naturally heal herself. And evolved into a mission to clean up the feminine care aisle.

Our mission is to educate, support, and provide humans with vaginas around the world, the tools and resources that promote health and wellness; by engaging these humans one healthy honey pot at a time.

Through our functional plant derived feminine care system, our goal is to provide humans with a safe and alternative to feminine care that is powered by herbs.

The Director of Sales will lead The Honey Pot Company’s sales strategy, net revenue growth and margin goals for Target. This person will manage all aspects of our everyday business at Target alongside our broker partner including the development of the annual business plans to drive mutual growth. They will monitor promotional and trade spend activity closely and provide insights / feedback to leadership.

The role requires a candidate who is already established in the Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area as we are looking for close collaboration and local insight with Target

What You’ll Do:

Sales Activities: 65%

  • Develop and execute a 3-year strategic vision to scale our Target / Target,com business.
  • Lead Top-to-Top and Line Review meetings between THP, Target Team and Brand Marketing Team
  • Foster and nurture relationships between Target and THP, ensuring strategic alignment and partnership.
  • Oversee the P&L from Gross to Net, judiciously managing Trade Funds and Retail Marketing investments.
  • Sell merchandising & distribution plans that grow and optimize product mix; ensures correct placements & compliance with SRP & merchandising strategy.
  • Lead new item review process and retail activities to maximize distribution.
  • Lead and drive accurate forecasting with the Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams.
  • Craft a holistic eCommerce strategy achieving ambitious physical and digital financial goals along with Director of Digital.
  • Innovate and expand THP’s presence in new store categories with trailblazing products
  • Lead a dynamic team to excellence through skill enhancement, organizational adaptability, and a commitment to diversity and mentorship.
  • Proactively anticipate and meet customer needs, guiding implementation in collaboration with Sales Planning, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and external partners.

Broker Management: 20%

  • Meet weekly with broker personnel to foster cohesive relationship
  • Determine correct broker network and make changes with input from VP
  • Conduct ride along events to determine broker effectiveness
  • Communicate expectations and monitor success for display activity, sell in success, product placement and deal submission

Team Management: 15%

  • Support The Honey Pot Company with advancement of brand through thoughtful leadership, delegation, and strong broker management.
  • Effective Communication with internal partners (marketing/sales/ops/finance) is key component to success in this role.
  • Management and mentorship of sales team
  • Aid in cross functional guidance to support the sales team overall
  • Work with other directors on constant improvements for the sales team and the organization

Decision Making Responsibilities: Ongoing

  • Assess viability of accounts during prospecting and provide insight and direction to team on account management, promotional programming and trade spend management. Are we getting the best from our partners and spend?

Who You Are:

  • Self-motivated and able to work with solid direction, and little day to day management
  • Presentation skills; excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Bring contacts and utilize as needed
  • Interpersonal skills; ability to develop strong relationships with customers and with internal teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work in low structure environment while being a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated success in category leadership and relationship building with customers and internal partners
  • Proven record of overcoming obstacles, demonstrated tenacity
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with track record of results

Strong planning and customer management skills

What You Need:

  • Strong planning and customer management skills
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG Sales w/ cross functional experience
  • Excellent Excel and CRM skills
  • 5+ years of experience selling/working with Target
  • Analytical – use of syndicated and customer data sources including Target POL, Nielsen, IRI
  • Ability to travel within market as required, including tradeshows, events and company meetings
  • Understanding of Category Management
  • Self-motivator with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create relationships and effectively collaborate with HQ team members from a remote location
  • Organized and task oriented
  • Solid understanding of P&L Management, gross margin and pricing structures
  • Results driven
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

WORKPLACE CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly works in a modern business office environment, may occasionally work out of retail shop locations or other off-site locations. Full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday. This position may infrequently require longer hours and weekend work.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Modern office equipment includes personal computer, printer, telephone, and copy machine.
