Job Summary

As a Sr Director of Sales for the NetApp West Region, you will utilize strong management and sales competencies to set objectives and develop strategies. This challenging and high-visibility position provides leadership and management oversight to Sales Managers and District Managers. You will develop long-term strategies and short-term plans to meet revenue goals. You must be extremely results-driven, customer-focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships. 

 

Essential Functions 

 

•    Provide management oversight to Sales Management within the Region to drive all pertinent issues related to sales strategy and goal attainment.
•    Participate in strategic planning sessions with the sales management team on a quarterly and annual basis.
•    Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution.
•    Establish short-term and long-term goals and quotas in line with corporate objectives.
•    Identify and qualify important Enterprise sales opportunities at the management level.
•    Review management plans with District Managers on a regular basis.
•    Act as coach, mentor, and educator to Sales Representatives within your Region.
•    Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
•    Assume responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
•    Acts in a leadership role within the function and across functions
•    Actively engage in relationship and opportunity development to drive revenue by supporting and assisting the Southeast sales teams in closing opportunities
•    Work closely and effectively with NetApp’s strategic partners and lead the relationships with the specific partner community to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction

Job Requirements

•    In-depth knowledge of storage technology and market competitors.
•    Skilled in target account and consultative sales, consistently surpassing sales quotas.
•    Ability to translate technology features into business benefits.
•    Proven track record in sales with experience in technical collaboration.
•    Budget development and cost management experience.
•    Competent in managing professional teams.
•    Established high-level connections with enterprise customers, including CXO-level in both private and public sectors.
•    Collaborative team players across various departments like Marketing, Sales Operations, and Product Development.
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Proficient in building relationships and negotiation.

Education

•    Typically requires 12+ years of experience and A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience
•    Master of Science Degree in Engineering or an MBA is preferred.
•    7+ years of experience as a people manager is required.
•    Experience in building a business and owning/driving revenue is preferred.
 

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $475,000 – 525,000 and will be determined by the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
